Sailun, FAW to build connected vehicle proving ground in China

DONGYING, China — Sailun Group and Chinese auto maker FAW Group jointly broke ground on a vehicle proving ground in Dongying on Nov. 2.

The project, named East China (Dongying) Intelligent Connected Vehicle Proving Ground, has a $396.2 million investment earmarked, the total area is 6.08 million square meters (about 850 standard football fields) and is expected to come online in early 2023.

The project covers traditional automobile test roads, intelligent networked vehicle test areas, and tire test roads, new energy vehicle test areas, and integrated indoor laboratories for automobiles parts.

 

 

The project will be managed by joint venture 42.5% owned by Sailun and 57.5% owned by FAW, Sailun said.

The joint venture's business scope covers auto tire testing, testing and other technical services for automotive/motorcycle and components, the development and testing of auto pilot technology and the organization of sports events, according to the companies.

In the future, Sailun will strive to build the world's top public service platform for intelligent networked vehicles and professional tire testing, and promote the development of my country's automobile and rubber tire industries to higher quality
